Hansard Internet Links.

Debates in both the House of Commons or House of Lords are faithfully reported in Hansard, the traditional name for the printed transcripts. Increasingly, these records are being made available online. They will always be a valuable source of research material. Visitors who use our links below may be surprised to discover the blunt honesty MP's can exercise in the Commons which results from the Parliamentary priveledge afforded to these representatives of the people.

There has been a considerable number of debates in both Houses of Parliament relating to Mobile Home (or Park Home) parks. Many parks have been the focus of much interest and concern for a variety of reasons including, among other things, the actions or inactions of the site owner. These have been aired in the debating chambers of both Houses and, as a result, reported in Hansard.

We believe that making the exchanges in Hansard available to our website visitors via a direct link to the relevant online entry in Hansard will be advantageous for a variety of reasons. These can include first hand information on, such as the Government of the day's responses to the issues.

We also include links to Hansard where proposed legislation in relation to Mobile/Park Homes is debated in both Houses. These exchanges are a good indication of the politicians view of how the intended legislation should be applied. They also highlight the weaknesses caused by failure to understand the problems as they really exist i.e. the "real world".

We are assured by the House of Commons Information Office that there may be "...several hundred..." items relating to caravan sites whether holiday or residential so clearly the amount of work involved in creating this particlar website page will be vast and by necessity, spread over a long period of time.

For our visitors ease, the links will be filed firstly chronologically and then followed by the name of the particular MP initiating the debate followed by the name of his/her Constituency. We are still thinking through the format for exchanges in relation to debates over legislation.

The following links will take our visitors directly to the entry in Hansard attached to the web address given.
